A Fresh Look: Why I Redesigned Tunnel Vision's Cover

I have some exciting news (and a small confession) to share about the Coldwater Chronicles.
When Tunnel Vision first released, I worked with a professional book cover design company to bring my vision to life. I was thrilled with the result at the time. It captured the story I had in my head, the design was essentially what I described to the artist, and I was proud to put it out into the world.
But something interesting happened after I finished writing Book 2 (title reveal coming soon!).
Once I’d spent more time immersed in Coldwater—digging deeper into its secrets, its characters, and the overarching story threading through the whole series—I realized the original cover no longer felt quite right. It was good… but it didn’t have the “pop” of color and energy I kept seeing in my head.
It didn’t scream “pick me up” as someone scrolled past on their phone. It didn't tug on your sleeve as you walked past it on the shelf, begging you to read what's inside.
And more importantly, it didn’t fully represent the cohesive visual identity I now wanted for the entire series. So, with a little trepidation (and a lot of Canva experimentation), I decided to redesign it myself.

Yes, I redesigned my own book cover. Call it creative control, call it mild insanity—either way, I’m really happy with how it turned out.
The new cover for Tunnel Vision feels bolder, cleaner, and more in tune with the tone of the whole Coldwater Chronicles.
And yes—Book 2’s cover has been designed to match (reveal within the next week or so).
To the original designer and company: thank you for your hard work. This isn’t a knock on you at all. It’s just one of those things that happens when a story keeps growing in your mind. Sometimes you don’t fully see what a book needs until you’ve lived with it longer.
To my readers: I hope you love the updated look as much as I do. It feels like the cover Tunnel Vision always deserved — one that better reflects the suspense, heart, and eerie atmosphere of the series.

And get ready — Book 2 is coming soon, and the new covers are just the beginning.
Thanks for riding along on this journey with me. Coldwater still has plenty of secrets left to uncover.
